Our Info

ADA Gallery was founded in 2003 in downtown Richmond, Virginia by John Pollard. ADA presents the work of exceptional emerging and mid-career artists from all across the country, with a particular focus on artists hailing from Richmond and the greater Virginia region. Since 2006, ADA Gallery has represented the work of its artists at prominent international art fairs held in New York City, Chicago, Miami, London, and Basel. John Pollard received his BA in Studio Art at the University of Virginia in 1988 and earned an MFA in Painting at the San Francisco Art Institute in 1992.
In 2010, Pollard joined forces with Katharine Mulherin of Katharine Mulherin Contemporary Art Projects in Toronto to open a sister gallery in New York City, Mulherin & Pollard, as a space presenting new curatorial projects and exhibitions to an expanded audience. The gallery’s first space was located in Manhattan’s Chelsea district. In May 2011, the gallery moved to its present location in the burgeoning gallery zone centered in the city’s Lower East Side.
