I almost let this guy slip past my radar.

The bluegrass alt-country fun of The David Mayfield Parade instantly caught my attention with his catchy, upbeat songs full of humor and showmanship. Mayfield is a Grammy-nominated artist and often plays with The Avett Brothers (so he's got some credibility here, folks).

The David Mayfield Parade will be playing at the Camel tonight along with Boom Chick, who I've written about before when they played at the Yerb. They must have loved Richmond so much that they wanted to come back. And who doesn't love a simple guitar/drum duo?

I'd make this a show you might want to see.
